BGA ObjectiveThe Minority Business Program for Growth, Sustainability and Development
This program aims to strengthen MWBE’s operational and development capacity and skills for growth and sustainability.
This is a leading-edge 12-month immersive program for certified and growth-oriented minority and women-owned business enterprise (MWBE) firms with intensive technical assistance and business development training to accelerate and sustain their business growth.
BGA Overview
In 2017, the Division of Minority and Women's Business Development launched the BGA program to support MWBE's economic contribution and employment offerings in New York State.
From 2017 to 2019, the first edition of the BGA program successfully enhanced the capacity of 52 MWBE firms in several business areas, including credit, marketing and business growth.
In 2022, A.L. Consulting Group, Inc. was selected as the incubator for NYC and Long Island. The mentorship will be hosted at The Jacobs- Technion Cornell Institute- Tech.

Curriculum Training Topics
Learn how to manage a construction project in a timely and cost-effective manner through these comprehensive, industry-recognized courses. Topics include operations/back office; scheduling, contracting strategies; bidding and award practices; contracts, bonding/insurance, estimating scheduling, and estimating; safety, bonding & and insurance; and access to capital/finance.
Virtual – Classroom – Online
Note: This is a hybrid program where you have online virtual sessions, as well as, classroom instruction
Program Structure
The duration of the program is 12 months:
Month 4 – 6:
Curated business development curriculum design and delivery.
Month 6 – 8:
Implementation of individualized MWBE business growth plans, mentoring and technical assistance.
BGA Eligibility Criteria:
✔ Must be a construction service and or construction consulting firm
✔ Be a currently certified NYS MBE, WBE or MWBE
✔ Must be in business for at least two (2) years
✔ Must have at least two employees
✔ Demonstrate annual revenues between $500,000 and $5,000,000 during the most recent year
