To provide Contractors’with a comprehensive understanding of contractor insurance and bonding, including the types, purposes, and legal requirements, enabling them to assess risk, ensure compliance, and effectively manage protection strategies in construction and contracting projects.

This course will cover insurance and bonding requirements necessary for M/WBEs to grow from Subcontractor to Prime Contractor in the construction industry.

To equip construction contractors with a foundational understanding of contractor bonding and insurance, focusing on their roles in risk management, legal compliance, and financial protection throughout the construction project lifecycle.

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Differentiate between various types of construction bonds and insurance policies.
  • Interpret the roles and responsibilities of the principal, obligee, and surety in bonding agreements.
  • Identify common insurance requirements in construction contracts, including coverage types and limits.
  • Analyze real-world case studies to understand the practical applications and implications of bonding and insurance.
  • Apply best practices for integrating bonding and insurance considerations into project planning and execution.
