Construction Business Management
This intensive 2-hour course introduces fundamental project management practices tailored to the construction industry. It covers the project lifecycle (initiation, planning, execution, closeout) and the role of the construction project manager in balancing the triple constraints of scope, schedule, and budget. Participants will learn practical tools (e.g. Work Breakdown Structure, Gantt charts) and processes for planning, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and team communication. The curriculum emphasizes real-world applicability: case-study narratives and industry examples are used to link theory with practice (an approach shown to enhance understanding of construction project methods. Key phases will include brief lectures, group discussion, and a hands-on case exercise based on a typical construction project scenario.
